Dancheong is the centuries-old decorative painting found across traditional Korean architecture — intricate compositions of repeating forms and vivid colours that bring rhythm and character to wooden structures.

It was this meeting of discipline and exuberance that first drew us in.

There is order within Dancheong's complexity: lines repeat, colours answer one another and many individual details come together to create something harmonious. Rare Bird reinterprets that visual language in artisan enamel, reducing architectural scale ornament into something intimate enough to wear.

For us, the collection is also a reminder that beauty need not be simple to feel balanced.
